QUOMI is a big family of healthcare champions from all over. And we are bound by one promise – to help each other be better at what we do. While we have no doubts that being professionals who excel at what you do and would make this a fulfilling network, we thought of sharing a few housekeeping rules that just helps keep things in order. Not that we expect any member to disrespect the community, but just so that we are aware of what we might be doing that would inadvertently hurt someone.
So here you go with our house rules –
QUOMI holds the promise of mutual respect. Respect for diversity of views and opinions, respect for experience and wisdom and respect for differences, are what we cherish. We would urge you to write your articles, contributions and messages in the same way you yourself would like to be addressed, with respect and high regard. Do not forget that your contributions will be published and that you stand behind them with your name. This is an interpersonal exchange and not an exchange with a computer. Please choose your words, so that there are no misunderstandings.
While differences of opinion might exist and our views might not be the same with other fellow members and colleagues, the most wonderful part of the world is that it is diverse and that we can agree to disagree without hurting anyone or conveying any disrespect. This makes for the most productive discussions. We would request all members to use mutual respect as the guidepost. Be polite, gentle and avoid getting involved in verbal outbursts of rage. It is great to be passionate, but one must take care not to be derailed with passion. Formulate your statements in a way that would also be acceptable in a face to face meeting. In that way, you will maintain and receive sympathy and respect. Getting angry and insulting people does not lead anywhere, is destructive, not very convincing and in the end, it is only your credibility both professional and personal that suffers.
Often in discussion forums, misunderstandings do happen. Hence it is important that we do our bit to keep things in order. So, please take a closer look at what the other person means in their article, before responding to it. While general good-natured levity is good, please do be cautious with remarks that might be considered or construed as sarcastic or hurtful. Please be sensitive that they might be understood in different ways by each person. So that the other person gets a better and correct understanding of your comments, use of smileys and a nice way of putting things is helpful.
In order for other users to regard your contributions as informative and recommendable, it would help to stay on topic and to write as clearly as possible. This would help make your point of view understood clearly. We encourage deep discussions on forums and topics and exchanges of views that enrich the subject under discussion. Should you need to discuss a new topic, we encourage you to open a new thread.
Please refrain from personal attacks and comments. Your views will be more respected if you stick to the requirements of style, form and tone. Formulations in hurtful or abusive language would not be tolerated under any circumstances within Quomi and will be deleted immediately once it catches our attention. Such kind of behaviour might also lead to a cancellation or suspension of membership. If you do come across such behaviour or usage, then please do flag it and inform us at contact@quomi.com .
QUOMI is a platform for exchanging and sharing information and views that help you widen and enrich your professional knowledge, and hence members are requested to use discussion forums and groups to inform, educate and enrich. These forums are not the place for advertising or sales plugs. These would undermine the purpose of the platform as also the way fellow members and colleagues would perceive you.
Finally, you must observe all laws, particularly in respect of of brand, image and copyright. Thus, for instance, the reproduction or sourcing of text / images from external media (e.g. newspaper articles, books, blogs, posts and videos etc.) without the relevant reference to, appropriate credits or approval of the person owning the rights, is not allowed. Please also take note of our general terms and conditions.
We are sure that as thorough professionals you will agree with our netiquette and our house rules. This would help make QUOMI a network that we can all be proud of. A network that truly cares.
Yours sincerely
